I sympathize with Wilnie's comment, though salary is dictated by the provincial wage board, I believe that we can do something about it by means of formal representation by the Associations' governing bodies to the concerned authorities. And pertaining to the reason why Medtech's and Nurses are taking over the Nuclear Medicine Job, I guess, it is their authority to do IV insertion. Its about time then for the Academe to move for the integration of IV Theraphy in the Curriculum for RadTech. Though I have this training in the Military for being a Corpsman, and able to practice while still in the active service, I was no longer able to put into practice when I was privately employed after my retirement from the military.
Wilnie, may be you should also take the HAAD (Health Authority of Abu Dhabi) exam for Radiographers which is now available on-line at the Pearson Vue examination centers in the Phil. After passing it, which you'll immediately know before getting out of the examination room, make use of it as a tool for the different hospitals here in UAE to issue you a visa to work for them and will grant you authority to come here and take the oral exam. If you'll be successful in passing both, a minimum salary of 10K UAE dirhams (P110,000/month) awaits you. If you are interested in knowing more about this, you can chat with me on-line:aquino_ranie@yahoo.com

i understand your sentiments mr w. d. escalada.

What's the point of having RTA of 1992 , the RAN 7431 if there are unlicensed radiographers allowed to work in the country.

It is now the roll of the PRC to catch and penalized these unlic. people practicing radiography. The PART inc. should also assist in this process.

registered practicing radiographers should report any biolators.

This way the professional dignity and respect in the industry is maintained.

employers who hire unlic. xray person should also be prosecuted. DOH should step into this matter to suspend or cancel Radiation apparatus lic. of owners, organizations, companies involved in hiring unlic. xray persons.

schools of low quality education in Radiologic Science should also be investigated-closed to ensure that quality Radiologic students are graduating.

"Palakasan" is still rampant in the country. So, what else can pinoys do.....it's up to the governing bodies to really implement the law of this profession or any other professions for that matter.

also, with so many school offering radiography in the country, a lot of graduate and reg. exam passers yearly, job availability will always be a problem, unless you go abroad and be lucky to be working in same industry.

radiography in rich countries is an excellent career. Technology is upbeat too. Very good remunerations as well.

good luck fellow radiographers.
