What is a Bremsstrahlung Radiation?

BREMSSTRAHLUNG

  •       Also known as white x-rays or white radiation
  •       Comes from a German word (bremsen “to brake” and Strahlung “radiation”) which means “braking radiation” or “slowing down radiation”.
  •       They are high energy x-rays
  •       Responsible for the production of an image in the radiograph
  •       Useful radiation as compared to characteristic x-rays
  •       Incident electron penetrates the shell up to the nuclear space, it decelerates and changes velocity then produces EMR (electromagnetic radiation) called Bremsstrahlung
