PARP 5th Biennial Convention – Cebu Chapter
The Philippine Association for Radiation Protection (PARP) – Cebu Chapter will hold their 5th Biennial Chapter Convention on 7 March 2009. The theme for the Convention is: “Meeting New Challenges in Radiation Protection: The New ICRP Recommendations”. PARP-Cebu aims to provide a medium by which its members can communicate more readily with others and through this process, advance the science of radiation protection. PNS – air containing cavities of maxillary, frontal, ethmoidal and sphenoidal of cranium and maxillary bones of face At birth- sufficiently well- developed and generated Other PNS- completely developed 17- 18 years Other name of sinus- antrum Exudates- are heavy, semi- gelatinous matrial which links to the walls and takes several minutes depending on viscosity to shift position PNS projections: 1. lateral px supine 2. lateral px prone 3. lateral px erect 4. Caldwell Method: Frontal and Anterior Ethmoidal Sinuses PA Axial Position
Film: 8 x 10 (18 x 24cm) Position of patient: Upright position- center the MSP to the midline of the grid Horizontal CR Method Position of patient: Tilt the head unit so an angle of 15 degrees open, superiorly before positioning the patient, is obtained. The Cr is directed horizontally; the 15 degree relationship bet. The film and radiographic tube remains unchanged.
