Brief History of the Philippine Board of Radiologic Technology
The Board of Radiologic Technology was created on February 27, 1992 by virtue of Republic Act No. 7431 also known as the “Radiologic Technology Act of 1992.” The first Board was composed of Fortunato C. Gabon Jr. as Chairman with Jose T. Gaffud, Editha C. Mora, Dexter R. Rodelas and Dr. Eulinia M. Valdezco as Members. The Rules and Regulations governing the examination, registration, licensure and practice of radiologic and x-ray technology was promulgated on September 20, 1993. Cebu Annual Convention
My students in Radiation Protection are very much excited to attend the Annual PARP Convention at Cebu, which is supposedly this coming end of September. Since last year I have been telling them to prepare because I will require them to attend the said convention. Proper Handling and Storage of a Radiographic Film
Artifacts- caused by the improper handling, unintended optical density and they are unnecessary marks on the radiograph. Film should not be bends crease and subject to rough handling Before processing, hand should be clean and dry, avoid lotions and creams Heat and Humidity- can cause film fog and reduces contrast. Film should be stored at 20ْ C or 68˚ F. Never store the film near the steam or fire and film should be stored at humidity of 40-60 % and keep the film in a cool dry place.
