Philippine Association of Radiologic Technologists, Inc. (PART) 1st Newsletter

Last week, I received the Philippine Association of Radiologic Technologists, Inc. (PART) 1st Newsletter. It was mailed to me, through LBC, by my former RT Instructor, Sir Logronio. The said four-page Newsletter contained the latest events evolving within the association and those that concerns it.

After years of existence, finally, it managed to published its official newsletter, PART Newsletter. I’m glad this was initiated because this is one way of informing and updating its members on what is happening within the association and the Board’s plan for a certain period of time.

If I’m not mistaken, PART does not have its own website and this can be a hassle to other members, especially from the provinces, to update themselves of the current trends and events in radiologic technolog field.

Back to the PART Newsletter, although it’s just a four-page publication, no space was wasted. Every article is worth reading and is significant to the members and to the RT students, as well. Plus, having a small highlighted place on the footer side containing classified ads is of great importance.

Of course, the ad is for RT Job Seekers. In the RadTech’s Field, we are very much aware that these ads may not be necessary because having our license can immediately grant us an assurance of having a good-paying job. I think the purpose of this ad is to entice other people to join the field knowing that we are significantly running out of “RRT Supply” (hehehe).

On the 4th page of the Newsletter is an invitation for the 3rd PART Midyear Convention at Puerto Princesa, Palawan, which will be on June 23-25, 2008.
The theme of the said convention is “Laddering Opportunities, A Progression and Challeges to RT Profession in Globalized Market”. Hopefully, I can attend this ( I have yet to find out tomorrow).

Anyway, what I really want to suggest is to have PART its own website, which will be open to the public. This can be a way of further promoting the profession. I hope there’s someone out there who will read this and make it happen.

Did you like the post? Do you have any corrections/suggestions? Please feel free to leave a comment or better yet, subscribe to my feeds via e-mail.Thanks!
