Brief X-ray Discovery History
The discovery of x-ray was one of the major event in science. I’ve been talking about x-rays from my previous post and now, I believe that it’s time for me to give you a brief history if how it was discovered. On November 8, 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Rntgen, a German physics professor, began observing and further documenting X-rays while experimenting with Lenard and Crookes tubes. Rntgen, on December 28, 1895, wrote a preliminary report “On a new kind of ray: A preliminary communication”. He submitted it to the Wrzburg’s Physical-Medical Society journal. This was the first formal and public recognition Click Here To Read More

Common Radiation Units Used in Health Physics
I am aware that some of my readers are not radiologic technologist, so the terms here may seem like jargons. So, the purpose of this post is to introduce some basic and common radiaiton units used in raidology. You may find this helpful, especially to those who are planning to enter this field. You must remember that there are two standard units; the English Units and the System Internationale (International System) Standard of Units. English Units include: roentgen rad rem curie SI Units include: gray sievert becquerel Common units used in the United States in health physics. roentgen (R)The roentgen Click Here To Read More
